A very Noir hello to all of Paul’s subscribers and a huge thanks for asking me to feature on your Substack!
My name’s James Jenkins and I’m an indie author of noir Brit Grit. I like to think I add a healthy dose of filthy realism and dark comedy to my writing too.
It’s a very big honour to contribute to the godfather of noir’s Substack. My second novel was released this week and it’s made me realise how far things have come. A couple of years ago I remember frantically wallowing in an expanse of potential publishers for my first book – Parochial Pigs.
This is when I first discovered Paul D. Brazil on Fahrenheit Press and remember reading an article about Punk Noir Magazine calling for short fiction. I hadn’t written any short stories at that time and after seeing Paul’s back catalogue and quality of work, I must admit I shat myself.
